YSL Rouge Pur Couture - Glossy Stain

The other day I stopped at a YSL counter to take a look at their lipsticks, and because deep inside of me I was hoping to find the perfect coraly/peachy shade to suit my hyper-pigmented lips. The lady at the counter tried a couple of the Rouge Voluptee lipsticks on me, and as always, the effect was that of a zombie girl.
Finally - exhausted by the unsuccesfull results - she showed me their newest release in term of lip products - the Glossy Stains.

I've seen quite a lot of blog posts on these products, but never felt intrigued by them. As always, I was wrong. (Seems that the least something appeals me, the most I like it in the end).


She chose for me shade number 7 - Corail Aquatique - a perfect combination of coral and peach. This is a really balanced color, that surprinsingly turned out to match my lips rather well! To be honest, I believe this color would look great on the majority of skin tones. This shade has very tiny silver glitters to it, but they are almost invisible!

The feeling of Lip Stains is rather moisturizing and not sticky at all. The finish is quite glossy, but doesn't look like proper lipgloss at all. It doesn't dry my lips as weel, which is good because the majority of lipsticks make my lips peel and feel uncomfortable.
This product is a hybrid between a lipstick and a gloss, and takes the best of the two worlds: it's moisturizing, pigmented and rich in color and at the same time, glossy.


The duration is quite nice, and this product actually stains your lips - if you swatch it on your hand just like I did and then remove it, a visible stain of color will persist even after using a make-up remover wipe! Quite impressive.


I would reccomend this product to anyone. Lipstick lovers, lipgloss addicted, hybrids curios... The range of colors is still quite limited, but the sales associate tolm me they are going to bring out more colors!
